General orders issued by the Headquarters of the Army, Adjutant General's Office, Washington, D.C., during the period of the Second Seminole or Florida War, November 1, 1835 through August 14, 1842. The orders concern promotions and dismissals of Army staff; court martials of soldiers for desertion, insubordination, dereliction of duty, and other offenses; costs of clothing and equipage; regulations concerning the uniform of military officers; the movements of troops in Cherokee country and Florida; assignments of troops to forts and military posts; the designation of military districts of the Quartermaster's Department; and errors in the compilation of muster rolls.
